It has been a long time without PvP tournaments, but now we are starting to see more and more pop up to the surface, so I decided to get some help from top PvP’ers Zunniyaki and Minpojke to give us some insight on this coming weekend. Zunniyaki is both commentating and playing in the tournament this weekend and Minpojke is also a top PvPer helping to run the tournament. Let's ask them which teams we should expect to see come out on top, which comps are going strong on TR and which might struggle?
“Normally we see a lot of the same comps due to flavor of the month setups, but in this tournament every single comp is different, except 2 times RLS. We see both double melee, double caster and melee caster setups. Can you give us some insight in why this might be?”
Zunniyaki "I would say that the main reason behind this choice is that the Organizers wanted to make the tournament as viable and diverse for everyone.
The other reason is that the tournament is primarly made for viewers enjoyment and entertainment, and seeing a bit of every class/spec and Comps makes the hole tournament more balanced."
Minpojke "Simply because it can get boring with a lot of people playing the same lineup, so we decided that we should try something different and try get as many comps in the tournament as possible."
“This will be played on the official tournament realm which means no heavy PVE gear. What comps does this favor and what classes might struggle from your perspective?”
Zunniyaki "I don't feel like the gear options drastically favors or disfavors anyone in particular, the damage is not as High as on live that's for sure, so games are more balanced and don't always end up in a "Who did the most dmg wins" battle.
However Comps with Melee/Caster/Healer like RMP(Rogue Mage Priest) or RLS(Rogue Lock Shaman) seem to be "roughly" the same."
Minpojke "I think this favors RLS because it’s not PVE gear dependent and the MS buff we didn’t have on the last TR is making a huge impact. Warriors also became viable on TR (they're heavily PVE gear dependent on live at the moment) and frost mages are superior to fire mages once again on the TR. The only class that is struggling on TR is restoration druids just like on live."
“Going into this weekend, what setup should we look out for the most in terms of possible domination? Is there something with limited direct counters setup wise amongst the lineups?”
Zunniyaki "Definitely RLS, always been considered the Best comp this whole season, it has very few counters and if played well can beat any other Compositions.
Minpojke "Every team in this tournament is a top tier team, so every setup is going to be interesting to follow to see how they play it. Personally I think the Vanguards Cleave will be dominating everything if they don’t have lag issues considering they're playing from the US and I am not quite sure how the team of Abni is playing (Multivites) but it will be interesting for sure to see an arcane mage and I’d say every team got a 50/50% chance to win against each other."
“So being non biased and completely neutral, which two teams do you reckon will advance from each group stage and why?”
Zunniyaki "Also hard to say at this stage (especially since i'm one of the Teams ;) ).
Even tough RLS and Ret/Dk/Priest are considered one of the best comps on the Tourny realm, there are so many great players and a good variety of comps, so anything could happen, I believe that all 8 teams have a chance of going through, it's really going to come down to how each individual brings their best game."
Minpojke "I think every team got as big chance as everybody else to advance but if I have to guess I would go with: Vanguards Cleave from group A because the comp is really strong and either Bleached Bones or Tag Team Stomp from group B."
“The million dollar question, who will take the money and crown themselves champions?”
Zunniyaki "Haha, well since it's only for a Million $, I'll just say "Let the best team win"
Minpojke "I'd say Vanguards Cleave."
“Thanks for your time, any shoutouts?”
Zunniyaki "Thanks for the itw, hope that as many people as possible will enjoy the Games this weekend. Shoutout to my partners "Khuna" & "Xandyn". Shoutout to Yaspresents, and to all the people involved in making this tournament happen. Shoutout to the previous tournaments Organizator "Prestige Gaming" & "NAO" for bringing back Esports to WoW."
Minpojke "Thanks, shout out to Yaspresents, friends, team-mates (you know who you are) "
